Fatal Troy shooting death of Nyreesh Amari Smith – Obituary

Nyreesh Amari Smith, a 20-year-old resident of Pike County, was shot and killed late Saturday night in Troy. The deadly gunfire took place around 10:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Dunn Circle.

When Troy police officers arrived at the scene, they heard several shots being fired in the vicinity. Shortly after, they discovered Smith lying on the ground with visible gunshot wounds. Officers provided emergency aid and performed CPR until Troy Fire and EMS crews arrived to assist.

Despite efforts to save him, Smith was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
