Fatal Decatur RV fire death of Jeffrey Clark – Obituary

Authorities have confirmed that Jeffrey Wayne Clark of Decatur was the victim who lost his life in an early morning recreational vehicle fire that occurred south of Decatur on April 17.

The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office officially identified Clark last Friday, ending a two-week wait for answers. Emergency crews from Decatur, Boyd, and Paradise fire departments, along with Wise County EMS, the Sheriff’s Office, and the Fire Marshal’s Office, responded to the blaze around 6 a.m. at a location in the 3500 block of Farm Road 51 South, near County Road 3198.

Wise County EMS Chief Randall Preuninger, who also acted as fire marshal at the scene, later confirmed the fire was accidental in nature. With the cause determined, the case has now been closed by investigators.
