Fatal Frackville hit-and-run death of Beth Burlile – Obituary.
A tragic hit-and-run accident in Frackville has left a woman dead and a man injured. The crash occurred on the evening of May 2, 2025, around 5:00 p.m. when the motorcycle Beth Burlile was riding as a passenger was struck by a red car in the 500 block of West Oak Street.
The vehicle fled the scene immediately after the crash. Authorities later identified the driver of the vehicle, Evelyn Valentine Clausius, a 72-year-old woman from Tamaqua, who was charged with felony accidents involving death or personal injury.
Beth Burlile, 62, of Ashland, was pronounced dead at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest in Allentown shortly after the crash.
Her husband, Larry Burlile, was also riding the motorcycle and was injured, but he managed to provide details of the incident to police, including the involvement of a red or maroon car. Surveillance footage led investigators to Clausius’s red Chevy Aveo, which had fresh damage.
Clausius later admitted to being involved in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing, and Clausius was arrested and charged. She was arraigned on Sunday and placed in Schuylkill County Prison with bail set at $45,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 14.
