Fatal I-805 Mountain View crash death of Grasiela Gomez – Obituary

A deadly freeway crash on southbound I-805 near Mountain View resulted in the tragic death of 65-year-old Grasiela Gomez of Temecula on Saturday morning. At approximately 9 a.m., the crash occurred when 27-year-old Markus Eugene Turner, driving a black Honda sedan, lost control of his vehicle north of 43rd Street and collided with Gomez’s silver Toyota sedan, which had been parked on the shoulder. Turner’s vehicle continued to crash into two other cars.

Gomez was pronounced dead at the scene. Turner, along with two passengers in his car and another driver involved in the collision, were taken to the hospital with injuries, ranging from serious to minor.

Turner, who was arrested on suspicion of DUI and vehicular manslaughter, was released from the hospital on Sunday and booked into San Diego Central Jail. He is currently being held on a $130,000 bail and is scheduled for arraignment Wednesday afternoon.
