A multi-car collision near the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) on April 30, 2025, resulted in the death of 42-year-old Nicole Chauvet, who succumbed to her injuries days later at Sunrise Hospital.

The crash, which involved seven vehicles, occurred at the intersection of University Center and Harmon when Chauvet’s Hyundai Elantra, traveling at high speed, collided with a Ford Transit Van. The impact caused a chain reaction involving five additional cars.

Chauvet was initially treated in the intensive care unit, but despite efforts, she passed away on May 4, 2025. Seven people were hospitalized following the crash, two of whom were critically injured.

Chauvet’s death marks the 61st traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction for 2025. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
