Fatal Neosho County, Kansas car crash death of Teresa Phillips – Obituary

Teresa Phillips, 47, of Chanute, lost her life in a tragic head-on collision early Monday morning along Kansas Highway 39, about 15 miles east of Chanute in Neosho County.

The accident happened around 6 a.m. on May 5 when Phillips was driving a 2019 Dodge Durango northbound and collided with a southbound 2021 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 38-year-old man from Deerfield, Missouri.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, both vehicles struck each other head-on along the center line for reasons that remain unclear.

Phillips died at the scene from her injuries, while the other driver sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash. No further details have been released at this time.
