Fatal Fort Wayne, IN hit-and-run crash death of Luis Antonio Figueroa Jr. – Obituary

Luis Antonio Figueroa Jr., a 37-year-old man from Fort Wayne, was fatally struck in a hit-and-run crash while riding a bicycle early Saturday morning on the city’s south side.

 

According to Fort Wayne Police, officers responded around 4:30 a.m. to the intersection of South Lafayette and Williams Streets, where they found Figueroa lying on the ground next to a bicycle. He was rushed to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries but was later pronounced dead.

 

Investigators concluded that a vehicle had collided with Figueroa and then left the scene without stopping. The Allen County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Figueroa died from multiple blunt force injuries and officially ruled the death accidental.

 

Figueroa is the 17th person to die in a traffic-related incident in Allen County this year. Authorities continue to investigate the case and are urging anyone with information to contact Fort Wayne Police at 427-1201, Crime Stoppers at 436-7867, or submit tips through the P3 Tips App.
