Jacob Donovan Saunders-Lashley dies in fatal Knox County car crash

Fatal Knox County car crash death of Jacob Donovan Saunders-Lashley – Obituary

Jacob Donovan Saunders-Lashley, 25, from Corryton, lost his life on May 5 in a tragic head-on collision that occurred in the 7300 block of Millertown Pike, according to the Knox County Sheriff’s Department.

 

Authorities stated that the crash took place around 10:20 p.m. The other driver involved, 20-year-old Mason Shumate of Knoxville, has been charged with vehicular homicide by intoxication.

 

Eyewitnesses reportedly attempted to assist both individuals involved in the crash. Saunders-Lashley died at the scene, still inside his vehicle. Shumate was transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment before being taken into custody and booked into jail.

 

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is ongoing.
