Fatal Minneapolis shooting death of Thor William Wagaman Walsh – Obituary
Thor William Wagaman Walsh, a 14-year-old boy, was killed Monday night following a shooting near the Federal Reserve Bank in downtown Minneapolis. Authorities confirmed the teen died at Hennepin Healthcare shortly after being rushed there with multiple gunshot wounds sustained around 9:03 p.m. at 90 Hennepin Avenue.
Police Chief Brian O’Hara stated that the shooting took place during a confrontation involving roughly twelve teenagers. As the dispute escalated, someone opened fire, fatally injuring Walsh.
As of Thursday afternoon, no suspects have been taken into custody.
Police also noted that Walsh was previously known to law enforcement and had been a victim of gun violence before this tragic event.
Chief O’Hara emphasized the importance of parental awareness regarding their children’s associations, especially with the growing concern over youths accessing firearms.
So far in 2025, Minneapolis has recorded 16 homicides, a slight decrease from 21 during the same period last year. However, there has been a troubling uptick in violence recently, with nine killings occurring in just the last two weeks.
