Authorities in Bibb County have confirmed that 53-year-old Christopher Davis of Macon died after being hit by a vehicle early Thursday morning in Lizella.

According to the sheriff’s office, Davis was walking along the 7300 block of Knoxville Road—a quiet, wooded area—when he was struck by a Plymouth SUV around 12:45 a.m. Deputies responding to the scene found Davis unresponsive.

Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley pronounced him dead at the scene. The Bibb County Coroner’s Office notified Davis’ family later on Friday.

The crash remains under active investigation, and authorities are urging anyone with details to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and speak with a fatality investigator.
