Authorities in Jackson, Mississippi, are looking into a deadly shooting that took place on Holden Street Wednesday evening. A significant police presence was reported at the scene, with officers securing the area using crime scene tape while they marked evidence and collected shell casings.

The Jackson Police Department later confirmed the identity of the deceased as 19-year-old Zephaniah Thompson. According to Hinds County Interim Coroner Jeramiah Howard, Thompson sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
