Fatal Doral hit-and-run death of Edell Romero – Obituary

Authorities in Doral are requesting the community’s assistance in identifying the driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run incident that took place last week. The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office reported that the collision occurred shortly before 6 a.m. on Saturday when Edell Romero, a 32-year-old cyclist, was crossing the intersection at Northwest 95th Avenue and 25th Street.

An unidentified vehicle heading westbound on Northwest 25th Street struck Romero and fled the scene without stopping to help. Witnesses reported seeing a dark SUV speed away, and investigators believe the suspect vehicle may be a black GMC Arcadia or Chevrolet Traverse manufactured between 2013 and 2017. It likely has visible damage to its left side mirror.

Romero was taken to a nearby hospital following the crash but later died from his injuries.
