Fatal Pembroke, New Hampshire shooting death of Blake Byrne and Julia Byrne – Obituary

A tragic incident unfolded early Friday morning in Pembroke, New Hampshire, where 3-year-old Blake Byrne and his mother, 26-year-old Julia Byrne, were discovered shot inside their home, prompting an investigation by state authorities into a potential murder-suicide.

The New Hampshire Attorney General, John Formella, stated that officers responded to a call on Pembroke Hill Road around 1 a.m. after a witness reported hearing two gunshots. Upon entering a bedroom, the witness found both Julia and Blake suffering from gunshot wounds.

Emergency personnel arrived to find Julia Byrne already deceased. Blake was transported to Concord Hospital but sadly succumbed to his injuries shortly after.

Autopsy results confirmed that both individuals died from a single gunshot wound to the head. Blake’s death has officially been classified as a homicide, while the final ruling on Julia’s cause of death remains under review.

Authorities cordoned off the residence and were seen outside the home throughout the day as they carried out their investigation. Officials assured the public that there is no ongoing threat stemming from the incident.
