Fatal Harnett County shooting death of Alfredo Escalona Meres – Obituary
Alfredo Escalona Meres, 50, was shot and killed during a robbery at a convenience store in Harnett County on the morning of May 3.
The Harnett County Sheriff’s Office reported that the incident occurred around 11 a.m. at the Value Mart located on NC 87 in Sanford. Deputies responded to the scene after receiving calls about the robbery and discovered Meres deceased upon arrival.
Authorities said the suspect entered the store armed, demanded cash, and fatally shot Meres before fleeing. Surveillance footage captured the suspect wearing a black hoodie, black pants, white gloves, and a black mask, with a black and white pair of sneakers. A handgun was clearly visible in the suspect’s left hand.
Law enforcement is seeking the public’s help in identifying and locating the suspect. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered by the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
