Fatal Otoe County car crash death of Alvin Sobbing – Obituary

A tragic accident on Thursday night in Otoe County took the lives of two individuals, including 70-year-old Alvin Sobbing from Auburn, Nebraska. Authorities say the crash occurred just after 9 p.m. along Highway 75, situated between County Roads P and Q, south of Nebraska City.

According to the Otoe County Sheriff’s Office, Sobbing was driving a pickup truck southbound when his vehicle veered across the centerline and struck an oncoming semi-truck head-on. The force of the collision killed Sobbing and a 12-year-old passenger in the pickup instantly. The semi-truck driver was unharmed.

Officials are continuing to investigate the cause of the collision.
