Fatal Milton bicycle crash death of Father James B. Doran – Obituary

Father James B. Doran, a 68-year-old priest from Milton, Massachusetts, passed away Friday night due to injuries he sustained after his bicycle collided with an SUV on Route 138. The incident happened around noon on Wednesday near the Trailside Museum on Blue Hill Avenue.

Doran, affiliated with the Oblates of the Virgin Mary at St. Joseph Retreat House in Milton, was transported to a Boston trauma center following the accident but succumbed to his injuries two days later. The SUV involved in the crash was driven by an 85-year-old man from Hyde Park, who did not report any injuries. His identity has not been disclosed, and it remains uncertain whether he will face any charges.

The collision led to a temporary closure of Route 138 at Canton Avenue, with aerial images showing a damaged black SUV and a bicycle on the road. The crash is still under investigation by local authorities.
