Fatal High Point car crash deaths of Jose Altagracia De Leon Corcino and Rolando Ventura Alberto – Obituary
Two lives were tragically lost early Sunday morning following a head-on collision on U.S. 29 North in High Point, North Carolina. Authorities confirmed the victims as 44-year-old Jose Altagracia De Leon Corcino of Greensboro and 19-year-old Rolando Ventura Alberto of Thomasville.
High Point Police officers arrived at the crash site near West Green Drive around 2:20 a.m., where they discovered both drivers deceased in their respective vehicles. Investigators report that Alberto was operating a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze traveling southbound in the northbound lanes, while Corcino was heading north in a 2005 Honda Odyssey. The two vehicles collided head-on.
At this time, it remains unclear whether excessive speed or impairment played a role in the incident. Emergency crews from the High Point Fire Department and Guilford County EMS assisted at the scene.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
