Fatal Brownsville construction site death of Jose Angel Herrera Castelan – Obituary

A tragic incident at a Brownsville construction site on Wednesday claimed the life of 35-year-old Jose Angel Herrera Castelan. Authorities reported that Castelan was using a compactor around 4:40 p.m. when the machinery flipped and fatally crushed him near the intersection of Padre Island Highway and Austin Road.

The Brownsville Fire Department responded to the emergency and confirmed the details of the accident. Local police have launched an investigation to determine what caused the heavy equipment to overturn.

In addition, a representative from the U.S. Department of Labor announced that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has initiated its own inquiry into the workplace fatality.
