Fatal Oceana County, Michigan bicycle crash death of Aaron Andreas – Obituary

Aaron Andreas, a 57-year-old from Hesperia, Michigan, was tragically killed in a collision with a pickup truck on Friday, May 9, in Oceana County’s Newfield Township.

At approximately 9:40 p.m., the crash occurred on East M-20 near South 176th Avenue. The driver of a Chevrolet pickup truck reported stopping after hitting what he initially believed to be a deer in the dark.

Upon checking, the driver discovered Andreas and his bicycle beside the road and immediately went to a nearby house to call 911. Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find Andreas in a ditch and performed life-saving efforts, but unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, a 42-year-old man from Hesperia, has been fully cooperative with authorities. Investigations suggest that speed, drugs, and alcohol were not factors in the crash. The incident is still under investigation.
