An 18-year-old from Wadmalaw Island, Tra’sean White, has been identified as the victim of a deadly shooting that took place in Hanahan on Monday night.

The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office reported that the incident occurred on May 12 around 9:08 p.m. on Bowen Pier Drive. Law enforcement officers from the Hanahan Police Department and the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.

One individual was taken into custody at the location of the shooting, though authorities have not yet released their identity or the charges they may face.
