Fatal I-70 crash near Claysville death of Abdul-Salami Touray – Obituary

Four-year-old Abdul-Salami Touray, from Columbus, Ohio, tragically died in a head-on crash on Interstate 70 near Claysville on Sunday, May 11, 2025.

The crash, which occurred just after 1 p.m. on Mother’s Day, involved a vehicle that crossed the median into the eastbound lanes and collided with a tractor-trailer. Touray’s mother, who was also killed in the accident, was riding in the front seat and has not yet been identified.

Neither she nor Touray was wearing a seatbelt, and Touray was not properly restrained in a car seat. The child was flown to UPMC Washington Hospital, where he was declared dead at 2:04 p.m. Investigations are ongoing, and Pennsylvania state police are handling the case.
