Fatal Machesney Park motorcycle crash death of Corey Carter – Obituary

Corey Carter, a 40-year-old man from Steward, was killed in a motorcycle accident on the evening of Saturday, May 10, in Machesney Park, Illinois. The crash occurred on West Lane Road, where emergency responders found him unresponsive.

Authorities say Carter had been riding his motorcycle westbound when he lost control around 6:15 p.m. The crash took place near the 7000 block of West Lane Road. Emergency crews from the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office and the Harlem-Roscoe Fire Department arrived shortly after, but Carter was pronounced dead at the scene by the Winnebago County Coroner’s Office at 7:21 p.m.

An autopsy later confirmed that Carter died as a result of blunt force injuries to the head and chest sustained during the accident.

The crash is still under active investigation by both the Winnebago County Coroner’s Office and the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office.
