Fatal Keithville triple murder-suicide death of James Sadler – Obituary

James Sadler, 29, was one of four family members killed in a heartbreaking murder-suicide carried out by his father, Leroy Sadler, on May 5, 2025, in Keithville, Louisiana. According to officials, James was shot and killed alongside his 2-year-old daughter Adalynn Mae Sadler and his mother Judy Sadler, before Leroy took his own life.

Deputies from the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office arrived at the family’s home for a welfare check but were met with silence. Moments later, a gunshot was heard. Upon entry, authorities found all four family members deceased from gunshot wounds.

James was a father and son, remembered by his loved ones for his role in a tight-knit family that had recently faced the emotional toll of losing a close relative to cancer. He leaves behind grieving family members, including Kara Hanning, Adalynn’s mother, who said James didn’t answer her calls the morning of the tragedy—a detail that left her deeply unsettled.

This tragic event has drawn attention to the hidden struggles within families and the importance of mental health support. James Sadler’s life was taken too soon, in a situation that has left an entire community mourning.
