Authorities say the incident happened around 9:51 a.m. in the 8400 block of South 23rd Street and involved a collision between a Honda CRV and a Toyota RAV4. All individuals involved remained at the scene after the crash.

Acevedo was confirmed deceased at the scene, while another individual was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. The McAllen Police Department is still looking into the details and cause of the collision.
