Maria Sanchez dies in fatal Long Beach freeway crash

Fatal Long Beach freeway crash death of Maria Sanchez – Obituary

Maria Sanchez, 46, has been identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner as the person who died after being thrown from a vehicle during a crash on the Artesia (91) Freeway in Long Beach.

 

The California Highway Patrol reported that the incident took place around 10:25 p.m. on Monday near the westbound lanes of the freeway and the Cherry Avenue off-ramp. Emergency responders arrived to find the vehicle fully engulfed in flames.

 

Paramedics from the Long Beach Fire Department pronounced Sanchez dead at the scene. She had reportedly been ejected from the vehicle during the collision.

 

In response to the crash, a SigAlert was issued, leading to the temporary closure of both directions of the freeway and the off-ramp at Cherry Avenue for several hours as authorities investigated.

 

Further details about what led to the crash are still under investigation by the CHP.
