Fatal South Dallas street racing crash death of Jose Ambrocio Medina Soto – Obituary
Jose Ambrocio Medina Soto, 59, lost his life Sunday night in a high-speed crash caused by an alleged street race in South Dallas, according to police.
Dallas authorities reported that the crash occurred shortly before 8 p.m. near the 5000 block of Second Avenue. Medina Soto was driving a pickup truck when a blue Ford Fusion, involved in a street race, crossed into his lane and collided head-on with his vehicle. The impact caused his truck to flip, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Fusion, 31-year-old Kadishjah Jackson, and her two passengers suffered serious injuries and were taken to the hospital. Following her release from medical care, Jackson was arrested and booked into the Dallas County Jail on six felony charges, including manslaughter, multiple counts of aggravated assault, and racing on a highway resulting in injury. Her total bond has been set at $1 million.
Surveillance footage from a nearby business captured the crash, showing both Jackson’s vehicle and a black Cadillac apparently racing. The Fusion lost control, swerved into oncoming traffic, and struck Medina Soto’s truck. The Cadillac fled the scene and its driver has not been identified.
The case remains under investigation as police work to determine further details about the other driver involved in the race.
