Authorities have identified the victim of a deadly hit-and-run in Milan, Illinois, as 60-year-old Tony N. Freeman. The incident occurred early Saturday morning, May 10, 2025, on Airport Road.

Rock Island County deputies were called to the 5100 block of Airport Road around 4 a.m. after receiving a report about a person lying in the roadway. Upon arrival, they discovered Freeman with life-threatening injuries.

Freeman was initially transported to a nearby hospital and later transferred to a regional facility, where he ultimately passed away.

Investigators located debris from a vehicle at the scene but did not find the car initially. Since then, officials have identified both the vehicle and the driver responsible. The driver is said to be cooperating with authorities, although their identity has not been released due to the ongoing investigation.

The Rock Island County Sheriff’s Office continues to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
