Tyrone Mason dies in fatal St. Louis shooting

Fatal St. Louis shooting death of Tyrone Mason – Obituary

Tyrone Mason, 57, was fatally shot in St. Louis early last Friday during a violent incident at a home on Wells Avenue.

The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department identified Mason as one of three victims found shot inside the residence after responding to a ShotSpotter alert around 4:20 a.m. Mason’s family confirmed he was discovered dead on the front porch. The suspect, 61-year-old James Carter, who was a convicted felon, briefly spoke with officers before retreating into the home and firing on police and an ATF agent, who then fatally shot him.

Two other victims were found inside the house: 34-year-old Ariel Eastling was located in the living room, and 58-year-old James Rodriguez was found in the basement. Both have been confirmed deceased by their families.

The families of the victims are grieving and seeking answers to the tragedy. Mason’s brother shared his heartbreak, revealing he learned of the death only days later and expressed how much his brother was loved. Eastling’s relatives described her as family-oriented and caring, deeply missed for her joyful spirit. Rodriguez’s daughter described her father as a generous handyman, struggling to understand the circumstances of his death.

Authorities are still investigating the motive and awaiting autopsy results before releasing detailed findings. Police emphasize that, with all parties deceased, uncovering the full details will take time.

For now, the loved ones of Mason, Eastling, and Rodriguez are left mourning and hoping for closure amid this heartbreaking loss.
