Fatal Kansas City gas station shooting death of Matin Nunley – Obituary

Matin Nunley, a 16-year-old boy, was shot and killed following a confrontation at a gas station in Kansas City, Missouri, on Wednesday afternoon, May 14, 2025.

 

Police responded shortly after 2 p.m. to the 8400 block of East 63rd Street for reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers were directed to the parking lot of World’s Liquor & Tobacco, where they found Nunley suffering from gunshot wounds.

 

Emergency responders from Raytown transported the teenager to a nearby hospital, but he was later pronounced dead. Authorities believe that a dispute among several individuals in the parking lot escalated into gunfire, resulting in Nunley’s death.

 

As of now, no arrests have been made. Kansas City police are continuing their investigation and are urging anyone with information to contact the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
