Michael Adkins, a 48-year-old man from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has died following a shooting that occurred in Minneapolis on May 15, 2025. Authorities say the incident unfolded after a dispute inside a vehicle in the 2700 block of Columbus Avenue.

According to Minneapolis Police, Adkins approached an ambulance crew around 8:20 p.m. with at least one life-threatening gunshot wound. His wife drove him to where the medics were, and he was then taken to a nearby hospital. Despite efforts to save him, Adkins passed away the next day on May 16.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has classified his death as a homicide. The shooter fled the scene, and no arrests have been made so far.

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara expressed frustration over the violence, assuring the public that detectives are committed to finding the person responsible. The investigation remains ongoing.
