Fatal Long Beach pedestrian crash death of Elias Rivera Jr. – Obituary

Elias Rivera Jr., a 47-year-old man from Ontario, was killed Sunday night in Long Beach after being struck by two vehicles while crossing the street outside a marked crosswalk. The incident took place around 9 p.m. at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Santa Fe Avenue.

 

According to the Long Beach Police Department, Rivera was first hit by a 27-year-old Wilmington resident driving west on Pacific Coast Highway. Moments later, a second vehicle driven by a 50-year-old Long Beach resident also struck him.

 

Paramedics from the Long Beach Fire Department arrived promptly but declared Rivera dead at the scene.

 

Both drivers stayed at the location and cooperated fully with law enforcement officers conducting the investigation.
