Amber Rai dies in fatal Tower Grove South pedestrian crash

Fatal Tower Grove South pedestrian crash death of Amber Rai – Obituary

Amber Rai, 68, of St. Louis, was fatally struck by a vehicle in the Tower Grove South neighborhood on May 12. The crash occurred around 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Gravois and Spring avenues.

According to police, a Jeep was turning from Spring Avenue onto eastbound Gravois when it hit Rai, who was walking in the area. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Rai suffered a severe head injury and was pronounced dead at the location.

Rai was a well-respected member of the Bhutanese-Nepalese community in south St. Louis and had been living in the area with his wife and two sons since 2012. Friends and community members described him as a devoted father who was out running an errand when the tragic incident occurred.

A local fundraiser has been organized to support Rai’s family during this difficult time.
