Fatal Austin motorcycle crash death of Shawn Oveisi – Obituary

Shawn Oveisi, 47, has died from injuries he sustained in a hit-and-run crash that occurred nearly two weeks ago on MoPac Expressway, according to authorities in Austin, Texas.

The collision took place on Tuesday, May 6, in the 2900 block of North MoPac when a motorcycle and a car collided. By the time Austin police arrived at the scene, the driver of the other vehicle had already fled.

Oveisi suffered critical injuries and was transported to a hospital for emergency treatment. Sadly, he passed away from his injuries on Monday.

This marks the 34th deadly traffic incident in Austin so far in 2025. Police continue to investigate and are asking for any information related to the incident.
