Fatal Palm Beach County car crash death of Natalie Leavy – Obituary
Natalie Leavy, 29, lost her life in a deadly traffic collision on Wednesday morning along US Highway 27 near Mutt Thomas Road, close to the Hendry County line. The crash was one of two separate incidents that disrupted traffic in the area throughout the day.
Emergency teams from Palm Beach County Fire Rescue responded around 5:50 a.m. after a semi-truck and a passenger car collided. Investigators reported that Leavy, driving a 2022 Nissan Altima, was heading northbound on US 27 when she lost control of the vehicle. Her car crossed the center median and entered the southbound lanes, where it collided with an oncoming semi-truck. The impact caused her vehicle to roll over and she was ejected from it.
Leavy was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi, identified as Wigberto Figueroa, was not injured in the crash.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office has launched an investigation into the incident.
Later that morning, at about 10:15 a.m., rescue crews responded to a second crash in the area between Mutt Thomas Road and Corkscrew Road. This incident involved another semi-truck that tipped over near a canal, but fortunately, no injuries were reported in that accident.
Traffic delays persisted in the area throughout the day as authorities worked to clear both crash sites.
