Fatal Prince George’s County pedestrian crash death of Asenakech Amdrufael Negewo – Obituary
Seventy-seven-year-old Asenakech Amdrufael Negewo was killed Sunday night in a pedestrian crash on Maryland Route 198 in Prince George’s County. The fatal incident occurred around 9:17 p.m. on May 18, near the ramp connecting northbound I-95 to MD-198.
Authorities reported that Negewo, who had previously been listed as missing by Montgomery County Police, was standing in the roadway when she was struck by a Honda Civic. The vehicle was being driven by 44-year-old Rigoberto Cervantes-Ceferino as he exited from I-95 onto MD-198.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and pronounced Negewo dead. The Maryland State Police Crash Team is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. Laurel Police also assisted with traffic control and road closures, which lasted for over two hours.
The investigation remains ongoing.
