Carl Klein dies in fatal Ashland Township car crash

Fatal Ashland Township car crash death of Carl Klein – Obituary

Carl Klein, a 64-year-old resident of Knox, lost his life in a single-vehicle accident on Route 338 in Ashland Township on Wednesday afternoon. Authorities from the State Police in Clarion confirmed Klein’s identity following the crash, which occurred just before 12:45 p.m.

According to the police report, Klein was operating a 1995 Chevrolet Prizm traveling northbound when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle veered into the southbound lane. The car left the roadway, ascended an embankment, struck two trees, spun around, and continued moving for approximately 116 feet before coming to a rest on the right side of the highway.

Officials stated that Klein was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the incident and was pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency medical personnel from Knox EMS arrived but did not transport him to a medical facility.

The Clarion County Coroner’s Office initially withheld Klein’s name until his family had been informed. Knox Fire Company, Knox EMS, and Rustler’s Towing also responded to the crash site. Investigators have yet to determine what caused the vehicle to cross lanes.
