Fatal Tacoma home incident death of James Webb – Obituary

James Webb, 95, was found deceased inside a home in Tacoma’s Fern Hill neighborhood on May 15. The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed his identity and noted that the official cause and manner of death remain under review.

Deputies from the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department had gone to the residence in the 800 block of South 80th Street around 10 a.m. that day to carry out an eviction. Inside the home, they encountered a 72-year-old woman who appeared to be in distress and in need of mental health support. While preparing to transport her to a hospital, she mentioned living with another adult, leading deputies to further search the home.

It was then that Webb’s body was discovered inside the house.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office passed the investigation on to Tacoma Police. According to spokesperson Shelbie Boyd, there were no signs of foul play as of May 15, and that remains the case pending the medical examiner’s final report.
