Fatal Eastland, Texas car crash death of Steven Daniel – Obituary

Steven Daniel of Eastland, Texas, died after crashing his vehicle into a home while attempting to flee a swarm of bees that attacked him while he was mowing a lawn. The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. on April 27 along North Lamar Street.

According to police reports and witness accounts, Daniel tried to drive away from the aggressive bees by reversing his truck, but he lost control and collided with a nearby house. Responding officers found Daniel still inside the vehicle, surrounded by a large number of bees both inside and outside the truck.

Officers noted that Daniel was struggling to breathe and appeared disoriented. One officer observed signs of anaphylaxis, including swelling and stingers visible on his skin. Daniel, who said he was not allergic to bees, initially refused medical help but later required urgent transport to Eastland Memorial Hospital as his condition rapidly deteriorated.

Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Daniel succumbed to his injuries. Doctors later determined that his cause of death was circulatory collapse due to the multiple bee stings. The bizarre and tragic sequence of events remains under investigation by local authorities.
