Fatal Rafina shooting death of Altin Arapaj – Obituary
Altin Arapaj, a 41-year-old Albanian man, was found dead in a vineyard in the rural outskirts of Rafina near Athens after being shot in the face, Greek authorities confirmed.
Police began an extensive search after Arapaj reportedly made a final phone call to his wife, during which he named the individual who shot him and provided a rough description of his location. He passed away shortly after the call, succumbing to his injuries at the scene.
Authorities recovered his bloodstained phone before locating his body following an 18-hour search. The investigation indicates that Arapaj, who had a prior criminal record in Greece involving drug offenses, may have been the target of a personal vendetta.
The suspect named by Arapaj—also an Albanian national with known ties to drug crimes—has been declared wanted by police. The crime scene remains under investigation as authorities work to capture the alleged perpetrator and piece together the full circumstances of the murder.
