Brandon Davenport dies in fatal Shreveport officer-involved shooting

Fatal Shreveport officer-involved shooting death of Brandon Davenport – Obituary

Brandon Davenport, 32, was fatally shot by police officers in downtown Shreveport, Louisiana, on Sunday afternoon. He later died at Ochsner LSU Health hospital shortly after 2 p.m.

Authorities were called to the area of Crockett and Marshall streets after a woman reported that a man with a gun attempted to enter her vehicle. She was able to drive away, and a witness who saw the incident contacted 911.

Upon arriving at the scene, police were directed by that same witness to the direction in which Davenport was heading. Officers encountered him moments later and reported that he was still armed. One of the officers fired, resulting in Davenport’s death.

This marks Shreveport’s 14th homicide in 2025 and the 18th in Caddo Parish so far this year. The Louisiana State Police has taken over the investigation into the incident.
