Aine Ni Cheallaigh dies in fatal Beaufort County drowning
Fatal Beaufort County drowning death of Aine Ni Cheallaigh – Obituary
Aine Ni Cheallaigh, a 50-year-old woman from New Jersey, was confirmed as the victim found deceased early Sunday morning on Hilton Head Island. According to the Beaufort County Coroner’s Office, she died from drowning at Collier Beach Road. Deputies arrived just before 1 a.m. and discovered her unresponsive, still wearing a wetsuit with a boogie board attached to her ankle. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing, but currently, there is no indication of foul play.
