Fatal Moray crash death of Colin Vaughan – Obituary
Colin Vaughan, a 64-year-old resident of Nethy Bridge, tragically died in a collision involving a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) on the A940 near Logie on the evening of Saturday, May 10.
The fatal incident took place at approximately 6:30 p.m. Emergency services confirmed that Mr. Vaughan was declared dead at the scene. The HGV’s male driver and female passenger were unharmed in the crash.
Mr. Vaughan, who lived at Fasgadh, Blairgorm, was well known for his long-standing role operating Kässbohrer snow vehicles at Cairngorm Mountain.
His funeral will be held on Friday, May 30th, at 11 a.m. at Inverness Crematorium. Following the service, a gathering will take place at the Nethybridge Hotel from 1 p.m., and all friends and community members are invited to attend either or both.
The family welcomes donations in Mr. Vaughan’s memory to benefit Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA). He is survived by his wife, Alison, five children—Gordon, Colin, Stuart, Seoras, and Molly—and grandson Lewis.
Police continue to seek information related to the crash. Sergeant Alexander Bowser-Riley urged anyone who witnessed the event or has dashcam footage from that time to contact law enforcement at 101, referencing incident number 2889 of May 10, 2025.
