Fatal Plano police shooting death of Juan Jose Rivera-Robles – Obituary

Juan Jose Rivera-Robles, 37, was fatally shot by a Plano police officer Wednesday night during a confrontation outside a residence on Ridgewood Circle.

Police had responded around 9:15 p.m. to a report of a woman being shot at the home. Upon arrival, officers encountered Rivera-Robles, who allegedly fired a weapon at them. An officer returned fire, striking Rivera-Robles, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The female victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported, and authorities stated there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The incident is currently under investigation by the department’s Crimes Against Persons Unit and the Collin County District Attorney’s Office. Details about the involved officer and possible administrative actions have not been disclosed.
