Jamal Ebron dies in fatal Sayreville Route 9 crash on Edison Bridge
Fatal Sayreville Route 9 crash death of Jamal Ebron – Obituary
Jamal Ebron, a 53-year-old man from Jersey City, was killed early Wednesday morning while trying to fix his disabled tractor-trailer on the northbound side of Route 9 on the Edison Bridge in Sayreville, New Jersey. Ebron was struck by a Hyundai Kona at approximately 4:51 a.m. and was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to authorities, Ebron had pulled his truck into the right lane and was attempting repairs when the crash occurred. The vehicle that hit him was driven by a 33-year-old man from Old Bridge, who was transported to Raritan Bay Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the collision.
The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and Sayreville Police Department are actively investigating the incident. Officials have requested that any witnesses or anyone with dash camera footage contact Officer Kales or Detective McGarry to assist in the investigation.
