Kayelin dies in fatal Louisiana shooting

Fatal Louisiana shooting death of Kayelin – Obituary

Kayelin, a 22-year-old woman from Louisiana, was fatally shot outside her home after her former partner, 24-year-old B. Bell, waited for law enforcement officers to leave following a call she made for help.

The tragic incident happened shortly after Kayelin reported to the Sheriff’s Office that Bell was attempting to enter her residence using an old key.

Deputies responded around 3:20 a.m. and searched the apartment but did not find Bell. Kayelin and a friend informed the deputies they planned to leave for their safety.

As she was leaving, Bell suddenly appeared from a nearby wooded area and shot her before turning the gun on himself. Kayelin died at the scene, while Bell was rushed to a hospital in critical condition and is not expected to survive.

Court records reveal Bell had been arrested the previous month for domestic abuse battery involving Kayelin, which resulted in a protective order forbidding him from coming within 100 yards of her. Investigators also found that Bell stole his grandparents’ vehicle to travel to Kayelin’s home, indicating premeditation.

This heartbreaking event highlights the urgent need for enforcement of protective orders and better support systems for victims of domestic violence. Louisiana authorities continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
