Authorities are investigating a deadly hit-and-run incident that occurred Wednesday night in Brownstown Township, Michigan, where 81-year-old Sandra Bacon lost her life.

 

The accident took place around 9:45 p.m. along Dix-Toledo Road, situated between King Road and Carter Road in Wayne County. Brownstown Police and the Downriver Crash Team are leading the investigation.

 

Sandra Bacon, a resident of Brownstown Township, was discovered in the roadway with severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle responsible had fled before police arrived.

 

Investigators are currently analyzing footage from security cameras in the area and appealing to the public for any relevant information.

 

Officials mentioned that the driver might not have realized they struck a pedestrian. They are encouraging anyone who saw the crash or knows details about the driver or vehicle to come forward.

 

Police extended their gratitude to the witnesses who stopped to help, the emergency responders who attempted to save Bacon, and the officers involved in the investigation.
