Fatal Roberts County helicopter crash death of Travis Chester – Obituary

Travis Chester, a 31-year-old man from Miami, Texas, lost his life Friday morning in a helicopter accident that happened northwest of Miami in Roberts County. The Texas Department of Public Safety reported that the crash took place around 7:20 a.m. on May 23 in a rural area near FM 2699, approximately 7.5 miles from the city.

Chester, who was the sole occupant of the helicopter, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have not yet identified what led to the fatal crash. The investigation is being taken over by the National Transportation Safety Board along with the Federal Aviation Administration. No further details have been released at this time.
