Baton Rouge, Louisiana Woman Mackenzie Corkern Arrested in Ascension Parish for Fentanyl-Related Second-Degree Murder

BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA — Mackenzie Corkern, a 28-year-old resident of Baton Rouge, was arrested in Ascension Parish in connection with a fentanyl-related death that occurred in January.

According to the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, Corkern was taken into custody on Wednesday during an arrest in Baton Rouge, with assistance from the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division. Authorities say the incident took place in January at a residence on River Landing Drive in Prairieville, where a female victim was found dead from an apparent fentanyl overdose.

 

Corkern was transported to the Ascension Parish Jail and is currently facing a charge of second-degree murder related to the incident.
