Inverness, Florida Woman Lauri Sadowski Arrested in Citrus County After 3-Hour Armed Standoff

INVERNESS, FLORIDA — Lauri Sadowski, a 66-year-old resident of Inverness, was arrested in Citrus County following a tense three-hour standoff with deputies and first responders.

According to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office, Sadowski was taken into custody on Friday at the Colonnade Park Apartments after she allegedly threatened to shoot through her door and refused entry to fire rescue and EMS personnel who were conducting a well-being check.

Deputies reported that Sadowski was visibly armed with a firearm in each hand and repeatedly paced between her balcony and apartment. Negotiators attempted multiple phone calls, but she reportedly answered and hung up each time. A SWAT team was also deployed due to her erratic and threatening behavior.

After several hours of negotiation, Sadowski exited her apartment voluntarily and was taken into custody. She was medically cleared before being booked into the Citrus County Detention Facility, where she is being held without bond. Sadowski is facing a charge of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.
