Houston, Texas Woman Asia Deason Arrested in Harris County for Murder of Her Partner

HOUSTON, TEXAS — Asia Deason, a 22-year-old resident of Houston, was arrested in Harris County in connection with the fatal shooting of her partner during an altercation on Christmas Day 2024.

According to the Houston Police Department, Deason was taken into custody on May 15 following a months-long investigation into the incident that occurred on December 25 at an apartment complex on Lakeside Estates Drive. Authorities say the altercation between Deason and her boyfriend escalated into a struggle over a firearm, which ultimately resulted in the man being shot in the neck.

Deason was found covered in blood at the scene and initially told police she had been trying to leave after an argument. She claimed the gun went off during the struggle. Her partner was pronounced dead inside the apartment.

Following interviews, forensic reenactments, and testimony from Deason’s grandmother—who was reportedly on the phone with her during the altercation—investigators charged Deason with murder. She was transported to the Harris County Jail and is currently facing charges related to the incident.
